COVERS OF LOVE
"Covering Children With Warmth & Love"
When God Gives a Vision……..God Gives Provision
Have you ever had God ask you to do something that looks impossible to you?
I have just lived that very thing! About a year and a half ago, I sensed God was putting something on my heart. I heard about the orphanages in Romania and felt God was saying to sew quilts for the children and knit hats for the babies in Romania. Well, there was a major problem with this vision because I don’t knit and do very little sewing. It seemed like a crazy thought and an impossible task. I could have chalked it up to indigestion and a bad dream and dismissed it. Instead, I shared the idea with three friends who got all excited and picked up the project right away. God started providing ladies to sew and knit and fabric for the quilts.
We named the project “COVERS OF LOVE” with the purpose of “COVERING CHILDREN WITH WARMTH AND LOVE”.
It is hard to believe but in January this year this VISION was fulfilled! My husband and I travelled to Timisoara, Romania to distribute over 400 handmade blankets and quilts, over 300 knitted hats, some scarves, a few hundred stuffed animals as well as 60 blessing bags to the needy children. God provided a charitable organization to ship 17 large hockey bags of gifts for us which was a financial miracle! We could see God’s hand upon this project constantly.
While in Romania we visited orphanages, hospitals, girl’s homes, and a boys juvenile detention center. We had the opportunity to bless many people with gifts such as blankets, toys and food items. It was a very emotional experience meeting these children, seeing their living conditions and realizing their destiny.
We also had the privilege to visit 8 homes in the village of Recas, near Timisoara where the living conditions were “extreme poverty”. One family we visited had no heat, hydro and no doors on their apartment. We saw some very sad situations but were able to encourage them and help them all in some small ways.
Travelling home I reflected on “THE VISION” God put on my heart. Then I reflected on “THE PROVISION” of God from the beginning to the very end. Constantly we could clearly see God’s hand on it.
I want to challenge you today that, “WHEN GOD GIVES A VISION, HE WILL GIVE PROVISION”. I think when Jesus said “Come” and Peter started walking on the water. Peter’s desire to do what Jesus asked was greater than his fear. When God gives you a word(Vision), and the moment you step out on that word your mind says, “It doesn’t make sense; I don’t have the talent; I don’t have the finances; etc. The amazing thing is, as long as you stand on the word God gave you, you won’t go under. That’s all you need to get started, a desire for God that is greater than your doubts and limitations. Relax and be confident in God. When God gives a “Vision”, He will give “Provision”.
